Dare to give up Christmas with family for Volunteer Travel?

I am one of the optimistic people who believe in the goodness of humanity. Though I am not financially endowed, I still want to volunteer abroad and share humanity’s goodness. My greatest dream is to be able to afford such activity. Of sharing a moment with someone who deserves it and someone who needs it.

I was so envious of Essaji who volunteered abroad during Christmas. Though she missed one Christmas celebration with her family but then it was well compensated.

Essaji according to what I read packed her bag as soon as the last item on an exam was answered and flew to South Africa and volunteered to help take care of kids. She went back on the day the class is about to start. Though she missed both Christmas and New Year’s celebration with her parents, she felt it was worth every moment of sacrifice away from parents on a holiday season.

When Essaji went home after the holidays the Christmas tree was still up so she feels as if she spent Christmas with them.

Essaji and the rest who give up Christmas and white snow on holiday seasons felt that if Christmas is indeed giving- they had fulfilled such deed.

South Africa seems to be a favorite not only of its Safari deals but also as a volunteer destination. Travel in South Africa either for a volunteer destination, work or a safari compensates every effort and penny you invested.

Though a volunteer abroad usually means fun, work and busy schedules… it also means a drop off on your way home to some of the popular tourists spot like the Cape Town, Western Cape, Johannesburg, Kruger National park, Pretoria, Durban, Pletenberg, Oudtshoorn, Port Elizabeth and Drakensberg Mountains.

A glimpse of these places right after a volunteer abroad in South Africa seals your volunteer travel.
