We have seen so many faces of poverty worldwide and overseas. But I was far too busy building my life that at that time it seems not to affect me…not until then I get to know how it was like to have nothing and being hopeless for a few days. It was on our immersion that the truth, in fact just a taste of the bitter truth made me work so hard to succeed and said that someday I will be able to contribute to my society through volunteering.

Now, I could tell you that though I am not rich, I now have the capacity to help financially and physically to better a part of our society. Through a year’s preparation and research for the perfect overseas volunteer program I now packed my bags and got ready for a volunteer travel.

To be honest I really do not know what to expect from this endeavor. I didn’t make any expectations and I promised myself to live a day at a time while on voluntary work abroad. Africa is a large continent with a vast space of treasures. Indeed, Africa is rich because of their natural wonders that they can boasts to the tourists. Unfortunately, despite that the continent is very rich when it comes to natural wonders however they are too far and poor when it comes to education and technology. They are too far updated that makes the people being corrupted from the high prominent leaders. Though there are people being educated in Africa but there are only a few and some of them are taking advantage of corrupting the innocence of their fellow people because of greediness. And yet, they are still trying to survive through the little things and amount they get from work that often lead them to illnesses and worst to death.

Due to that, volunteers are needed to fulfill these children’s dreams.

Mexico—this city is known as the largest cities all over the world. Volunteering here mainly focuses in those people living in the poverty areas. Those people who were left behind because of abuse of the environment as well as lack of economic opportunities. The volunteers here are responsible in helping these less fortunate people in cleaning and improving the environment, teaching people with the foreign languages, teaching them how to operate computers, how to cook and more.

Costa Rica—located in Central America, Costa Rica is blessed of having various sightseeing and pristine natural environment.
