Africa is a large continent with a vast space of treasures. Indeed, Africa is rich because of their natural wonders that they can boasts to the tourists. Unfortunately, despite that the continent is very rich when it comes to natural wonders however they are too far and poor when it comes to education and technology. They are too far updated that makes the people being corrupted from the high prominent leaders. Though there are people being educated in Africa but there are only a few and some of them are taking advantage of corrupting the innocence of their fellow people because of greediness. And yet, they are still trying to survive through the little things and amount they get from work that often lead them to illnesses and worst to death.

This is the reason why, this continent is abounding with countless volunteers because they want to help and improve the ways of life of the African people. Various volunteer opportunities have been established here that suits the African people needs. If you are willing to volunteer even in just a short time, you can acquire on their short-term volunteering.

As a volunteer, there would be expectation that you expect in a voluntary work not just in Africa but all over the world. If you were volunteering in Africa, these are the things to expect.

  • Basic situations—in Africa most of the volunteers will be placed in the rural areas. It is expected that there will be no electricity and running water since most of this place is located in hinterlands. Therefore it is expected that you will going to join the family who have this type of lifestyle by living with them.

  • Adapting their culture—since you will be relocating in the rural communities rather than in urban expect that they are more traditional. Therefore, you have to dress whatever the dress they mostly wear and behave like what they used to be. By following their traditions, it would be easy for you to adapt their culture.

  • Acquiring diseases—if you volunteer abroad particularly in Africa, you will be prone of any diseases. Before heading to Africa make sure you have taken all the medicine and safety measure you need.

  • Personal development—when you join volunteering it can help you develop your personality. In fact, most of the volunteers have said that they feel grown and mature spending time with people who need their help. Making them more responsible since through volunteering it changes them how they look at life.
