Volunteer Work Abroad Programs

There are numerous volunteer work programs abroad and to begin choosing for one is a bit hard to do. You have to think of what kind of volunteer work that you would get into and so on. Here are some of the volunteer works abroad that are popular and are sought after by volunteers. The fields that usually volunteers would want to volunteer are the orphanages, dental and medical, education, construction projects and many more.

Orphanages. In this volunteer program, volunteers will be assisting the children in the orphanages and that includes in feeding the babies, teaching and reading activities to them, playing games, also teaching them children songs, arts and so on. And will also be handling projects the center has; primarily volunteers do is give their attention and their affection to the children. Most of the countries which offer this kind of volunteer program are in Ghana, Uganda, Chile, Ecuador, Nepal, Tanzania, India and other countries.

Dental and Medical. Medical professionals such as doctors, nurses, dentists and other healthcare professionals, usually volunteer in this kind of program. They will be rendering their services to the clinic and community hospitals. They will be helping those who need medical and dental attention. Volunteers in this field may also submit their credentials and certificates so that it would verify that they have enrolled or graduated in this field. The Dental and Medical Volunteer Program; are mostly found in Ecuador, Peru Kenya, Uganda and other developing countries.

Education. In the Education program, basically volunteers assist the staff in teaching the children in different subjects such as English, Science, Math and also vocational skills if there are, such as electronics, computer and many others. It would be a volunteer work in teaching kindergarten to secondary schools.

Construction Projects. Volunteers in this program usual are hands on, they work along with the local workers in making a school, clinics, or perhaps renovate a building, build a foot bridge and many more. This is a manual labor yet this kind of volunteer work helps the community.

    I’d like to volunteer in Africa. I have a special interest in institutional development but I’d like a program that offers a stipend and/or living accommodations. Could you recommend me a suitable organization besides Peace Corps, I am a Romanian citizen?
