Volunteering is one ways to help other people who were less fortunate. Those people who were victims of fire disasters, typhoons, and more. Nowadays, the volunteers give support to the different organizations. And most of them are also connected to prominent government leaders, nonprofit organizations and businessmen. The reason why these volunteers are mostly connected to these kind of people since these people could give them advice and financial support in times of needs.

Most of the volunteers are students; college students who were willing to help and lean a hand from those people who presently have nothing. However, some of the universities are taking advantage of the volunteer program. They make it as a compulsory instead of voluntarily. If you try to figure out the essence of the volunteer program would not be apply if you make it as a compulsory. Just like in the Gilroy Unified School District they are considering a new requirement for the graduating students. They required all the high school to volunteer. Since it is already been required volunteer programs is not volunteering and it is therefore called compulsory.

This would cause disadvantages in performing the voluntary work since some of the students are not willing to do their assigned tasks. Volunteering needs to have sincerity, love of work or assigned work. And if you try to push one person to volunteer even though he do not feel like doing his tasks it would have a bad result. Volunteering is like letting somebody to decide wholeheartedly if he is willing to do the tasks of most of the volunteers are doing. There is no need of pushing because it could only ruin the situation. If students are push to do their tasks it would end up nothing and useless. Therefore, universities also are advice to instead give the high school students the freedom to choose what they really wanted in life before hopping to college. If they would volunteer then well and if they won’t then it’s their decision let them decide what they want. After all they role their life and we don’t have the right to dictate them but instead give them advice as their guide.
